In the important Super 8 match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, India defeated West Indies cricket team and became qualified for the semi final. The match was played in Kolkata. India showed strong performance in both bowling and batting, which helped them reach the next stage of the tournament.
West Indies batted first after India won the toss and chose to field. The team scored 195 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs. Their main scorers were Roston Chase with 40 runs, Jason Holder with 37 runs, Rovman Powell with 34 runs, and Shai Hope with 32 runs.
India started the chase carefully but maintained a steady run rate. The Indian bowlers tried to control the West Indies batting attack, and Jasprit Bumrah took two wickets in the match. The chase became exciting as the target was close to 200 runs.

India successfully chased the target of 196 runs in the final over. Sanju Samson scored 97 runs and remained not out. Tilak Varma made 27 runs while Hardik Pandya added 17 runs to help the team win.
With this victory, the semi final lineup of the tournament was completed. England, New Zealand, and South Africa also secured their places in the semi finals. India will face England in the semi final, and once again the team became qualified for the semi final.
